At YRM we pride ourselves on being able to supply a wealth of technical information via email and telephone and with the introduction of our new website last year we have decided to bring this depth of knowledge onto our website.
The first port of call was to add a feature on our ‘contact us’ page, where a picture could be uploaded of customers’ Land Rovers. A picture speaks a thousand words and this has allowed us to pass on advice to countless customers through recommendations and labelling pictures with part numbers.
Another longstanding feature we have kept is our workshop, which is a helpful tool for step by step guides on how to fit some of our parts, including part numbers, pictures and handy tips. We will continue to update this and also aim to populate with additional video content from our YouTube channel.
Diagrams were introduced in early 2025, with the aim of being transparent about what exactly is needed for each area. A progression from labelling pictures customers send us of their vehicles. These diagrams include JLR /OEM reference numbers for guide lines only. Diagrams will be continually updated and if you need a particular diagram for an area you are working on please email contact@yrmit.co.uk and we will see what we can do.
Tools check list was also an early 2025 development. This gives you a guide to the tools that you may need for particular work done on your Land Rover. This handy interactive checklist takes the guesswork out of repairs. This checklist will guide you to the exact tools you need for the job.
Parts calculator was another early 2025 addition. To start with this is just focusing on the parts you would need to assemble a seat box, breaking down the price, time taken to complete the task and part descriptions and numbers also included. The aim is to increase the range of the parts calculator, so you can get a comprehensive list of parts needed for other common areas of the Land Rover, for example rear tub.
As Ronnie Snr always says, Land Rover Defenders are like a giant Meccano set. By making guidelines and information more readily available for our customers we aim to keep these vehicles on the road for many more years to come. In line with the handy tools on the website, we are also bringing out a steady stream of informative YouTube videos with tips and how to.
When developing new products our main ethos is to ‘improve on original’ where possible, to help improve the longevity of the vehicles and ultimately keep Defenders on the roads. By making our knowledge base more accessible we hope to help budding hobbyists with their projects.
Keep an eye on the news page for more updates on new parts and diagrams.
Love it, YRM it!
We know you love your Land Rovers – so YRM it!
